ABOUT ME

CAPTURING THE ESSENCE OF YOUR BEST FRIEND

I believe that every dog has a story to tell. My passion is to capture those stories through my camera, using the beauty of the outdoors as my backdrop. Each session is a unique experience tailored to your pup, creating timeless memories that you can cherish forever.

HELLO, I'M ERIC

Z72_1012.tif

My photography journey started by accident in 2012 when I brought home my first rescue dog. Like any new pet parent, I was obsessed with taking photos that captured his real, unique personality.

Today, fourteen years later, my philosophy remains simple: dogs belong outside. You won't find stiff studio backdrops, artificial studio flashes, or awkward, forced poses here. I shoot exclusively outdoors across Ottawa because that is where your dog gets to be a true dog.

I also take a completely different path when it comes to style and editing. A lot of pet photography right now leans toward bright, fluffy styles, heavily photoshopped backgrounds, and heavy AI manipulation. While AI can be useful for minor details, relying on it heavily takes away from the actual art of photography and the skill required to capture a real moment. I only edit for tiny details. Instead of fake, generated scenes, I prefer a realistic, moody approach that leans into rich tones, natural shadows, and the true atmosphere of the outdoors. Your dog's real character is found in their actual, unedited details—like the dirt on their paws from a great run, or the slobber running down the side of their mouth.

Whether we are exploring Bruce Pit, Conroy Pit, David Bartlett Park in Manotick, Stony Swamp, Hampton Park, or the Greenbelt, nature is where their true personality shines. That genuine joy is exactly what I want to put on your wall—not an AI-altered digital composite, but your real dog living their best, messy, soulful life.

My shoots are completely relaxed, laid-back, and entirely shaped around keeping your dog happy in nature. I’m based in Ottawa (and always willing to travel), and I’d love to hang out with you and your best friend.
